A 9×9 inch clamshell measures 228×228mm and stands 76mm tall, pressed from sugarcane fibre at 42g. It is the largest square box in this range, and it exists for meals that would otherwise be plated.
Why the square footprint earns its carton space
Rectangular delivery bags, insulated totes and pass shelving all waste the corners that a round container cannot reach. A 228mm square body fills those corners, so an order that used to need two stacked rounds travels as one flat box. Food also sits on a single plane instead of being built upward, which keeps a crust, a fried item or a garnish from being crushed by the lid.
Flat lid or three wells
MG-P-SH09 gives the full 1500ml in one open well. MG-P-SH09−3 splits the same 228mm body into three at 77mm, one millimetre taller because the dividers rise with the rim. Pick the divided box when components must arrive separate — protein, rice, pickle — and the flat box when the kitchen finishes the plate before closing the lid. Both close on the same stepped rim.
Carton maths for a 9×9 line
Both versions pack 100 pieces per sleeve in twos, two sleeves per carton, so 200 boxes leave in a 48×36×25.5cm case; the divided body measures 48×36.5×25.5cm. Two hundred meals per case is a workable planning unit for a kitchen running forty to sixty covers a night, because one carton spans several services and reordering can follow a weekly rhythm instead of a daily one.
Where a square beats a round box
Anything portioned by scoop benefits from corners: rice, grain salads, noodles and diced protein all settle into a square base with less dead space. The format also labels well, since the flat lid takes a sticker or a printed panel without wrapping around a curve. For a menu built on bowls, the round mouldings in the clamshell range may still suit better.
Questions buyers ask
Is 1500ml enough for a main and two sides? For most rice or pasta plates it is, provided the sides are not sauce-heavy; tell us the menu and we will confirm.
Can the three wells be different sizes? The mould is fixed, but custom sizes are available if your volume supports a tooling change.
Does the box print? Yes, single or multi-colour printing is available across the lid panel.
Compare it against the shorter restaurant clamshells or send us your menu for a size recommendation.
