Fish and chips needs a box that vents steam, resists oil and takes a portion wider than it is tall. The three MG-F&C bodies — 300×191mm, 310×239mm and 324×155mm — cover small, middle and large on exactly that logic.
Three footprints for three portions
The small box is 300×191mm at 36.3mm deep and 20g. The middle is 310×239mm at 35.6mm and 33g. The large is 324×155mm but 60mm deep at 44g, so it trades width for height. A single fillet with a scoop of chips fits the small; a large cod with a generous portion needs the middle; a loaded box with sides goes in the deep large.
Ventilation for fried food
Battered food goes soft when steam cannot escape. Moulded fibre is porous, so moisture passes through the wall rather than condensing on the inside of a plastic lid and dripping back onto the crust. Leaving the box slightly open for the first minute after plating accelerates that, which is why counters often stack these boxes loosely rather than sealed tight.
The deep large box
At 60mm the large body takes a fish portion, a layer of chips and a pot of sauce without the lid touching the top layer. The trade-off is a 155mm width, so a very long fillet sits diagonally. If your portions are wide rather than tall, the 239mm middle box is the better geometry despite being shallower. Check the diagonal before you commit a long fillet to it.
Carton sizes across the three
All three pack 125 per sleeve in twos, 250 per carton. Cases measure 42×31.5×21.5cm for the small, 44.5×32.5×27.5cm for the middle and 56×31.5×21.5cm for the large. That last case is the longest in the range at 56cm, which matters if your shelving is 50cm deep — check before standardising. The counter workflow is described in packaging for restaurants. Questions buyers ask
Will grease come through the box? Pressed fibre handles fried food without a plastic film; tell us the oil content and holding time if you need reassurance.
Is there a lid? These are hinged one-piece boxes, so the lid is part of the moulding.
Can we print a shop logo? Yes, and the wide flat lid suits a roundel.
