The 2-compartment clamshell is 230×153×80mm at 30g, and its divider runs the full depth of the body. That single detail decides which dishes can share a box without turning into one dish.
What belongs on each side
A full-depth divider is a wall, not a ridge. Wet components — curry, dressed slaw, a saucy protein — stay on their side while rice, bread or fried items stay dry on the other. Shallow ridges fail here, because liquid climbs over them within minutes of packing. Because this wall reaches the rim, a plate that mixes textures at the last moment can be assembled by the customer instead of the kitchen.
Three wells on the larger bodies
The idea scales. MG-P-SH08−3 divides a 220×203mm, 1200ml body into three at 37g, and MG-P-SH09−3 does the same on the 228×228mm, 1500ml body at 42g. A three-well box suits a protein plus two sides, or a set menu where components are costed separately. The 230×153mm two-well body stays the right choice for a main plus one accompaniment. Well depth is identical across the three.
Carton size when the body widens
This box packs 125 per sleeve in twos, 250 pieces per carton, at 44.5×34×25.5cm. The 8-inch three-well case is 46×36.5×22.5cm for 200 pieces, and the 9-inch three-well is 48×36.5×25.5cm for 200. Wider bodies do not automatically mean worse freight: 44.5cm is the narrowest case of the three and sits neatly inside a 45cm shelf. Nothing about the divider changes the sleeve count on the two-well body.
Portion discipline at the pass
Dividers force a decision about quantity before the box is closed. Staff cannot heap a second component into the space of the first, so portions stay repeatable across shifts and across sites. Kitchens introducing a fixed menu often find the format earns its place through consistency rather than through material. See packaging for restaurants for the operating context. Weigh one filled box to set the reference.
Questions buyers ask
Does the divider survive a hot dish? It is moulded in the same pressing as the body; tell us the dish and hold time so we can advise on grade.
Can I order a lid-only version? These are one-piece hinged boxes, so there is no separate lid to order.
Is printing available on the flat panel? Yes, and the undivided lid area gives artwork more room than a round box would.
