Wholesale buyers are not choosing a bowl, they are choosing a supply relationship: carton cube, repeatability, and how many pieces fit in a container. This page is written for distributors, importers and multi-site operators rather than for a single restaurant.
Container maths first
Start from cubic metres, not from price per piece. The 12oz and 16oz bowls both pack 1,000 per carton; the 16oz carton is 60×37.2×38cm against 50×33.8×35cm for the 12oz, so the smaller bowl ships materially more pieces per cubic metre. Across a 40HQ that gap decides your landed cost more than a few cents on the unit price.
Building a pallet that sells
A distributor’s catalogue needs coverage, not depth. A workable starting mix: 8oz for tasting and sides, 12oz or 16oz as the volume runner, 24oz or 32oz for mains, 40oz for soup, plus the oval and compartment salad bowls for the cold counter. Five or six SKUs cover most menus.
What “wholesale” changes in the product
Nothing in the mould — the same bowl is sold to a single café and to an importer. What changes is the commercial layer: private-label printing instead of stock, carton marking to your specification, and a production schedule agreed against your reorder cycle rather than against a single shipment.
Documents buyers ask for
Specification sheets per SKU, material and compliance documentation, and carton dimensions for freight calculation. See certifications and the materials guide for what is available.
Questions buyers ask
Do you private-label? Yes — logo printing on the bowl, and carton marking to your spec.
Can you quote FOB and CIF? Send the destination port and volume and we will quote both.
How stable is the price across a year? Ask for the pricing basis when you request the quote; sugarcane fibre pricing moves with the harvest.
