Product Details

A food truck counter moves, and a plate is only as good as its base on a vibrating surface. Rim depth, base flatness and how the plate nests on a two-metre shelf decide whether a service runs smoothly.

Rim depth from 15mm to 25mm

The range runs from a 15mm rim on the 155mm plate to 25mm on the two ovals. Depth holds sauce and stops a portion sliding when the plate is handed across a counter. On a truck, where transfer happens quickly and often one-handed, a 20mm rim on the 225mm and 254mm plates gives enough lip without making the plate feel like a dish.

A flat base on a moving counter

Plates fail on trucks in two ways: they rock, or they slide. Rocking comes from a base that bows under load; sliding comes from a glossy surface on a stainless counter. A pressed fibre base with a defined foot ring sits flatter and grips better than foam, which is why operators notice fewer spills after a switch. Heavier bodies hold that flatness under a full portion.

Nesting on a two-metre shelf

Empty plates nest, so the constraint is carton depth rather than plate count. The 1,000-piece 7-inch case at 36.8×31×37.5cm and the 500-piece 9-inch case at 46.5×34.8×24.8cm are the two that fit a shallow shelf. Buying the larger carton where space allows cuts restocking trips, which matters on a truck that cannot store a spare case under the counter. Count a case before you assume the piece count on the label.

Wind, and the square option

Outdoor service adds a problem no rim solves: a round plate catches wind and a paper liner lifts. A square plate with straight edges and a 16mm rim, from 160mm to 260mm, sits closer to the counter and holds a liner flat. Many trucks run rounds for plated dishes and squares for trays and boards. Truck and counter operations are covered in packaging for restaurants.

Questions buyers ask

Will a plate hold a loaded portion one-handed? At 225mm with a 20mm rim, yes for most dishes; tell us the portion.

Do plates fit standard truck shelving? Check case depth against your shelf; the 9-inch case is 24.8cm deep.

Can we print our truck logo on the plate? Yes, printing is available on the face and rim.
