The 10-inch round plate is 254mm across with a 20mm rim, moulded at 21g. It is the largest circular plate in the range, and its job is to hold a full dinner service without the edges feeling crowded.
What 254mm buys on the plate
Diameter is working space. At 254mm a protein, a starch and two vegetables can sit apart rather than touching, which is what makes a plated meal look composed rather than scooped. The 20mm rim frames the food and gives a thumb rest when the plate is carried. Below about 225mm the same meal starts to look crowded even when the portions are identical.
The 21g body and a flat base
Weight in the base is what stops a loaded plate bowing in the middle. A 21g moulding over 254mm keeps the centre flat under a full portion, so the plate sits on a table instead of rocking on a high point. That also matters on a buffet where plates are stacked before service: a flat base stacks predictably and separates without sticking.
Carton 53.5×35×28cm for 500
The 10-inch packs 125 per sleeve, four sleeves per carton, 500 pieces. The 10-inch three-compartment plate shares the same carton at 53.5×35×28cm, which means a kitchen can stock both formats on one case footprint. That case is the largest in the round range, so check shelf depth before you standardise on it. That shared case is why kitchens can run both formats without a second shelf.
When ten inches is the wrong call
For a lunch trade, a 10-inch plate invites over-portioning and takes more shelf and bin space than the meal needs. The 9-inch plate at 225mm is the more common default; the 10-inch is for dinner service, carvery lines and anything presented as a main course with garnish. Service context is covered under packaging for restaurants. Portion twice on the plate you intend to buy, not on a dinner plate.
Questions buyers ask
Does the plate take a sauce without softening? The body is pressed in one piece; tell us the dish and holding time so we can confirm.
Is there a compartment version at this size? Yes, the 10-inch three-compartment plate uses the same 254mm body.
Can the rim be printed? Yes, printing is available around the rim and on the base.
